Hi, I'm Mikołaj, but most people know me as Meeks!
I'm a professional guitarist, solo artist and qualified guitar teacher based in Paphos, Cyprus, with a passion for helping others discover the joy of playing guitar.
I specialise in electric guitar, particularly rock, metal, lead guitar and advanced solo techniques, but I also enjoy helping students take their very first steps into the world of music.
With nearly 10 years of teaching experience, both in the UK and Cyprus, Grade 8 guitar qualifications from Trinity College London and RGT, and a background in professional performance, I bring both practical experience and structured teaching to every lesson.
Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to master challenging solos, my goal is simple: to help you become a more confident, capable and expressive guitarist while enjoying every step of the journey.
My Musical Journey
Music has been a huge part of my life for many years, and guitar has given me the opportunity to turn my passion into both a career and a creative outlet.
I studied at the Academy of Music and Sound in Glasgow and achieved Grade 8 guitar certifications through Trinity College London and RGT. I'm also a registered RGT guitar teacher.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to perform across Scotland at well-known music venues, including King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Audio, Stereo and McChuills in Glasgow.
Alongside teaching and performing, I write and record my own instrumental metal music, combining technical guitar playing with melody, emotion and creativity. My album Solitary, along with my singles, is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
I'm also the lead guitarist of Stonevile, a Paphos-based metal band, where I continue to develop my skills and share my passion for live music.Being an active musician means I'm constantly learning, practising and developing my own skills. It's this real-world musical experience that I bring into my lessons.
For me, guitar isn't just about playing the right notes. It's about expressing yourself, creating something meaningful and enjoying the music you make.

I believe the best way to learn guitar is through a combination of structured guidance, practical playing and genuine enjoyment.
Every student is different. Some want to learn their favourite songs, others dream of playing fast guitar solos, and some simply want to enjoy a new hobby.
That's why I don't follow the same lesson plan for everyone.
I take the time to understand your current ability, musical interests and personal goals before developing lessons that work for you.
With over seven years of teaching experience, I've learned that progress comes from understanding what you're practising, not simply repeating exercises.
My lessons focus on building solid technique, improving accuracy and timing,
developing musical understanding,
and helping you overcome challenges
that may be holding you back.
For more advanced players, we can explore techniques such as alternate picking, legato, improvisation, phrasing and solo construction.
I also provide clear feedback and personalised practice guidance, so you know exactly what to work on between lessons.
Most importantly, I aim to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and progressing at your own pace.

We'll start with the essentials, from understanding your instrument and learning basic chords to developing rhythm, coordination and playing your first songs.
My aim is to make those early stages enjoyable, encouraging and easy to follow, so you can build confidence from the very beginning.
Intermediate Players – Take Your Skills Further
Already know your way around a guitar but feel like your progress has slowed down?
We'll work on improving your technique, timing, accuracy and musical understanding, while exploring more challenging songs,
riffs and solos.
Together, we'll identify what's holding you back and develop a clear plan
to help you move forward.
Advanced Guitarists – Refine Your Technique
If you're an experienced player looking to improve speed, precision, improvisation or advanced lead guitar techniques, I offer focused tuition to help you reach the next level.
With my background in rock, metal and instrumental guitar, I can help you develop cleaner solos, stronger phrasing, greater technical control and a more expressive playing style.
